Being 40: Day 1, Week 1. - Awake at 6 a.m.
I am sitting in bed with my MacBook Pro on my laptop, wide awake at 6 a.m. Partly because of my sleep apnoea, partly because my internal alarm clock is stuck on waking me after six hours of sleep, and partly because I turn 40 today.
Yes, I know, don't look my age. Good genes I guess. But I sometimes do feel it internally, as I have a few health issues that I am worried about.
I vowed at the start of the year t exercise more, do some rock climbing, maybe get into some form of martial arts training. Well, six months have passed and I have done none of those, mainly due to money flow issues. When I get a job that pays me what my skills are worth (which I hope is in the next two months) then I'll start. Yes, I know I can do some exercises at home, but it's not an issue of laziness as some people think, just that I feel exhausted a lot of the time due to my sleep apnoea. Breaking through that exhaustion is the tough part.
I took Friday and Monday off work, and so I have been having a long lazy weekend. Friday most of the day was spent doing administrata type stuff (rent pain, grocery shopping, etc). Saturday was spent playing some Mass Effect and watching TV< just relaxing basically.
Today is ME day, and I'm doing things all focussed on pampering me! So don't expect responses to messages, e-mails, FB posts, or tweets as I probably won't be online so much after 9:30 a.m. or so.
Monday will be another lazy day.
I don't know how many of these notes I'll make over the year, but I hope to update regularly. I'll also be posting these as notes on my Facebook page .
And thank you in advance for the birthday wishes, my friends.
P.S. There will be party in a month or two's time. Keep an eye out for the invite.

CopywrongHere is an image that a friend sent to us on a mailing list about the frustration people have when trying to view a legal DVD. Please Note: I do not condone torrenting of movies or buying pirate versions. If I like a movie, I will buy it on DVD. However, it is frustratng to have to jump through the various hoops movie studios add to a DVD before you can watch the actual movie. (I recommend right-clicking on the image and selecting view in your broser or downloading the image and viewing it full size).
